• Fans are speculating that Chase Chrisley and his girlfriend Lindsey Merrick have broken up.
  • Nothing has been confirmed, but based on their Instagram activity it seems like the pair may have split.

We have bad news for supporters of Chase Chrisley's most recent relationship: it might be over.

The Chrisley Knows Best star first started dating Lindsey Merrick sometime around the fall of 2018, following his split with longtime girlfriend Brooke Noury. Chase's father, Todd Chrisley, made it clear that he did not approve of his previous relationship, admitting he felt "great comfort" after Chase and Brooke broke up.

But the protective dad only had kind things to say about Lindsey, and was "thrilled" to introduce his son's latest girlfriend to his followers with a touching Instagram post he shared in December. Now, just two months later, it appears that Chase and Lindsey may have called it quits.

Fans have been questioning their relationship status for several weeks and, while nothing has been confirmed, there's a lot of evidence supporting this breakup theory on social media. Let's investigate, shall we?

They didn't spend Valentine's Day together.

Plenty of people don't spend Valentine's Day with their significant other for any number of reasons, including distance, work obligations, or just personal preference. However, Chase posted an Instagram on February 14 that left fans scratching their heads. While most people in relationships shared sweet photos of their loved ones, the 22-year-old put up a selfie of himself standing alone.

It was the caption of the solo shot that really made us wonder about him and Lindsey. "Happy Valentine's Day, I love you so much and thank you for doing so much for me," Chase wrote. "Can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you! I'm going to be selfless and go buy you a great gift!"

The post was clearly meant to poke fun at all of the other Valentine's Day tributes taking over Instagram that day—but it doesn't sound like a joke that a guy with a girlfriend would make.

They didn't spend Lindsey's birthday together, either.

Lindsey celebrated her birthday on February 19. Judging by the photos she has been sharing from her vacation in Florida, she and Chase did not celebrate the occasion together.

Similar to Valentine's Day, Chase didn't post anything about Lindsey on Instagram for her special day (despite the fact that he often shares photos to honor other friends' and family members' birthdays). Instead, he posted a late-night shot of a car dashboard that showed Luke Bryan's song "Drink a Beer" playing from his music library.

If you're not familiar with the country hit, let me tell you—it is Sad with a capital 's' and the lyrics of the tune are all about dealing with the loss of a loved one.

In fairness, Chase might just like the song. But I'm just saying, that doesn't seem like the type of thing a boyfriend would post to his Instagram story on his girlfriend's birthday. Which leads me to my next point...

They have unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Don't think this is a big deal? As a fellow 20-something millennial, I can assure you—it definitely means something is up.

Even more questionable is the fact that each of them has entirely erased the other from their Instagram pages. Over the past several months, both halves of the couple had shared countless photos together. Now, all of those posts have been removed from their feeds.

You may be noticing a pattern here, but—that doesn't seem like something someone in a relationship would do to pictures of their significant other. 😳

Whether Chase and Lindsey are together or not, I hope both of them are happy and that fans respect their privacy as they sort out whatever they may be going through.
