We all remember the blue and gold dress, and now we have another optical illusion playing games with us on the Internet, brought to our attention by the Daily Mail – this time Twitter can't decide if this furry animal named Atchoum is a dog or a cat.
Many people chimed in to voice their opinions of what species this animal could be. One person commented and said "Definitely a dog. Very cute!" while another couldn't disagree more. "While the ears are barely visible, the eyes are a dead giveaway. The pupil shape is cat all the way."
And that is correct. Atchoum is indeed a cat. A Persian cat to be exact, who is from Quebec, Canada. It also turns out Atchoum is very active online and has a presence on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr and his owners have even created a website for him.
The site is adorable and pretty informative. It's actually where we found out why Atchoum looks the way he does. It turns out he has a rare disease called hypertricosis (also known as werewolf syndrome), which causes him to grow a lot of hair at a fast rate and thickens his claws.
So there you have it, mystery solved. Atchoum is a furry cat who looks like a dog.
