If you're a fan of McDonald's ice cream, we have bad news—because what you're about to see is pretty disturbing.

One guy, claiming to be a McDonald's employee in the U.S., recently tweeted photos of what he says is a part of the ice cream machine, covered in what looks like mold.

The Twitter user, 'Nick', posted the photo last week and it has since gone viral.

"This came out of McDonald's ice cream machine in case y'all were wondering..." he wrote.

Not everyone was convinced by the photos, with some saying that it must be the grease trap instead.

Nick continued to share more photos, painting an even more dismal picture of the branch.

We reached out to McDonald's to verify the pictures and find out what is going on, but they've yet to comment.

So, to answer the question on everyone's minds— what happened to Nick?

Apparently he was fired from the popular fast-food chain, after continuing in his plot to expose the brand.
