On last night's episode of Discovery Channel's hit show Alaskan Bush People, the Brown family revealed devastating news regarding Ami Brown's health.

The family's matriarch, Ami, was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer after a biopsy revealed a cancerous mass in her lungs, according to People. Billy Brown, her husband, said it could be stage 4, but they'd need to have more testing done to find out. "Ami started getting sick months ago and we didn't know what it was, but it changed from the point of 'something's wrong' to 'something's wrong,'" Billy said on the show.

With such earth-shattering news, Ami and Billy contemplated leaving the bush and returning to society for treatment. "It's hard to even talk about it, because it's something I never thought would come out of my mouth," she said. "This is earth shattering for us, it really is."

Ami's children are standing by her in this difficult time, but they're scared of what could happen. "I just wish I could change it somehow. I'm very scared for her," Rain, her youngest daughter, said.

Ami wanted to comfort her family, even in her greatest time of need. "Bill and the kids are very loving and supportive," she said. "They're all worried. I tell them, don't worry. Please don't worry. Be happy. Keep the faith. Good or bad, it's God's will and we'll walk that road."
