Proof that you should never underestimate the weak (runt dogs in this case): Freddy the Great Dane was the smallest of his litter, but has defied the odds to receive the Guinness World Record for the Tallest Dog in the World. That's right—in December, Guinness declared 4-year-old Freddy the world's tallest dog.

Measuring 7 feet and 5.5 inches tall when standing, Freddy towers over his owner Claire Stonemason, who is just over 5 feet tall. She says she had no idea he would get so big since he was the smallest of his litter. Freddy is so big now, Stoneman says she buys more than 10,000 pounds of food each year for both Freddy and his much smaller sister, Fleur. For Freddy alone, she says she spends more than $100 per week on food, which includes whole roast chickens and peanut butter toast. Talk about fitting that extra expense into your budget!

Weighing 196 pounds, Freddy is so large that he will often open drawers around Stoneman's house—one of his favorite activities if he isn't playing with Fleur. And of course when a dog gets the title of "Tallest Dog in the World," he also gets an Instagram account.

You can see everyday photos of Freddy by following his adventures on Instagram at @freddygreatdane. It seems his favorite activities include perching on the couch, sunbathing outside, and opening drawers—you know, typical big dog things.

And of course, Freddy was cute even before he got so big.
